The USB on the WRT610 is broken and Cisco won't fix it. The man is going to have even more problems if he can't get a USB port to work correctly.

David Gross, is right about the fact that consumers dont want to manage home networks. But he is wrong that the consumer has to do this.

HPNA - HomePNA does this for the consumer.

My blog: http://www.3screens.net covers this and other issues, written from the mind's eye of a consumer, being a real AT&T three screens customer.

Scientific-Atlanta was mentioned in the first part of this article. However, David Gross is ignorant to the fact that there are over 7 million SA set-top boxes in the US today. It makes sense that Cisco will use SA and Linksys to interoperate together and provide the "new applications".

Cisco may already be the 800 lb. gorilla in network management for enterprise scale networking but I don't think that approach will scale down to home networks. Sounds like more wishful thinking along the lines of Microsoft's view of the PC as the center of home entertainment.
