The proxy accounting error reflects more poorly on Broadridge than on Yahoo! considering they're an accounting company that specializes in proxy voting.

Their accounting firm LOST 200 million votes? How do you LOSE the proxies from your two biggest institutional holders?

God knows what other accounting errors YHOO has been accumulating.

Another serious blunder that (even if unintentional), does not bode well for the image of Yahoo! I mean, if you can't even count your own shareholders' votes fairly, how can you do the complex statistics required in web search? TO me, they are still not outside the suspicion of foul play: maybe they wanted to make sure the margins reported for absentee ballots during the convention were wide enough, so there would be no major unrest (and potential leadership challenge) there.

But even with that, the explanation they give it's pretty embarrassing. How can we expect that a rounding error can be responsible from jumping a number from 60% to 79% ? Again, even if true (we have no proof of otherwise) it seems very, very unprofessional for a major technology company to make such a mistake.
