Microsoft is losing share to Google. Yahoo! is losing share to Google. Maybe math changed since I have been in grade school, but how does adding two negatives equal a positive?

I personally think Ballmer is pretty decent as a CEO, mainly because Bill Gates seemed near the end of his career to be burnt out of running the company.

MSFT needs YHOO and vice-versa. A merger is the only way for them to have a chance. I YHOO merges with TMX, the possibility of the company beating out GOOG will be slim to none. Why is YHOO even considering a merger with TMX? They're a dinosaur.

He's really intelligent actually. Getting people from Yahoo (who are more creative and are having triple the success of their Microsoft counterparts in the same field) makes perfect sense to any businessman.

Why try to acquire smalltime businesses when this deal could help vault them into the position they want in one fell swoop. Not that it's not a risk, but that's how business and life are played. No guts, no glory.

But, in the overall scheme of things, is it a moot point?

When will everyone wise up and realize that Balmore is not the right man to run such a great company like Microsoft.
He is a very lucky man for having B.Gates as an old school friend.
